Security Officer

If you are looking to work as a Security Officer or as a Door Supervisor then this is the course for you, just from this one qualification you will be able to work security sites, commercial premises and other similar (but slightly limited) environments.

This classroom-based syllabus offers a thorough introduction to private sector security work, whether as a new entrant to the industry or transferring from other functions. Trainee officers gain a real insight into the security industry, whilst also gaining specific knowledge relevant to this sector.

Course content includes; The Private Security Industry, Safe working practices & legal requirements, Role of a security officer within the private security industry, The law relevant to the role of a security officer, How to recognise, assess & reduce risk in conflict situations and Good practice to follow after conflict situations.

What do you need to bring to the course:

As per the emailed joining instructions, do not forget to bring 2/3 proofs of ID - which can be either a Passport or Driving licence (if you have both, then you need nothing else).

If you only have either a Passport or Driving licence then you will also need 2 proofs of address to go with it, like a utility bill, bank statement, phone bill or even a letter from job centre/DWP or anything else of a similar official nature

You will also need 1 recent (within the last 5 years) passport sized photo, this is submitted to the awarding body. We also recommend bringing a pencil and a rubber.
