The Security Industry Authority (SIA) are responsible for regulating and improving the industry, reporting to the Home Secretary.
This means the compulsory licensing of individuals undertaking designated activities within the private security industry, which in layman's terms means, you must be qualified in order to be licenced by the SIA. Once you are qualified and licenced, you are then able to begin work (with a few exceptions).
